According to figures published in the IT Job Watch website, there has been an increase of 63% in demand for permanent Software Test Analysts and QA Test analysts compared to figures captured in August 2014.

Contract roles for test analysts have also increased by similar percentage figures suggest.

The increased demand can be attributed to the growing understanding business have on the importance of quality assurance and to the general feel of markets recovery from the down turn they took in the last few years since 2008.

In a research conducted by the Learning and Skills Council and government sources, software testing is one of the top recession-proof jobs in the UK.
To those of you who are not familiar with the role, Software test analysts take part in designing, researching and developing key systems that are essential to an organisations’ success and future growth. Test analysts are involved in various disciplines and domains and the options to grow within that industry are truly impressive.

The demand in resources have also led some companies develop a thorough software testing course to assist people getting into the IT world. These type of courses usually provide good skills that in turn allow the delegate to get a position in the software testing industry.  There are also some certification that have been developed specifically for that field, like ISEB/ISTQB. Foundation level being the most basic one a software test analyst should have in order to obtain a position in that industry.
